Frequently Asked Questions

MICROBLADING Q &A

  • A: Microblading is a form of semi-permanent tattoo where pigment is implanted into the skin with a hand-held tool in a series of thin lines to simulate natural hair strokes.

  • A: A standard old fashioned tattoo, usually using dark permanent ink with a machine, results in stamped-like solid shapes as eyebrows. Not only can this look very unnatural and eventually leave an unflattering grey color but will last as long as 20-30 years to a lifetime. Microblading, on the other hand, is a tattoo technique that creates a series of hair-like incisions. The pigment used is semi-permanent and only lasts up to about 1-2 years. In result, microblading not only simulates a much more natural aesthetic than the old fashioned tattoo but provides the flexibility to change the shape of the eyebrows as both trends and faces change over time.

  • A: 1. If you find it difficult to draw/fill in your eyebrow makeup yourself.

    2. If you find it difficult to maintain your makeup throughout the day.

    3. If you wish your eyebrows were sweat/water resistant at saunas, swimming pools/ beaches, etc.

    4. If you wish to minimize your makeup routine so you can sleep in a little more!

    5. If you simply wish to change your look but don’t know how!

However, although microblading is semi-permanent, it is still a form of tattoo that you will have to have for a good year or two. If you’re ready to commit to a shape, you’re ready for microblading!

  • A: Nothing happens to your natural eyebrows as they are untouched by the microblading. It is important to keep most of your natural hair as much as possible to maintain a natural aesthetic.

  • A: A person can actually pull off many different shapes of eyebrows– it all depends on their preference! What impression do you want to deliver with your new eyebrows? Do you want to look younger/older? Fierce and sexy or sweet and innocent? The options are endless.

  • A: It can, depending on each person’s reception of anesthesia. However, most microblading places, including ours, provide ample numbing in order to provide clients with a painless experience.

  • A: People with oily skin can still get microblading. However, the lines will blur out and become a little thicker as well as fade out a little faster than average. If you have oily skin I suggest combo brow which includes shading.

  • A: Microblading typically lasts up to about 1-2 years, depending on the skin type and lifestyle of the recipient. If you lead a more active lifestyle, such as regular workouts and sports that cause heavy sweating, you will experience shorter lived results.

LIP BLUSHING/ LIP NEUTRALIZING Q &A

  • A: It is best to start taking an ORAL anti-viral medication for prevention of cold sores (with or without a history) at least a week BEFORE your proposed procedure date to help reduce the risk of an outbreak.

A: If you have a history of cold sores, IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you need to start taking an ORAL anti-viral prescription at least a week (preferably 2 weeks) BEFORE your proposed procedure date to help reduce the risk of an outbreak.

A: ORAL anti-viral meds such as the following can be used: Valacyclovir,Denavir (Penciclovir) ,altrex or Acyclovir (Zovirax)

A: It is best to do a scrub 3 days BEFORE the procedure,

A:Use moisturizer often on your lips in the days prior to the procedure to maintain smooth texture.

A: Please eat before the procedure so you will have normal blood sugar levels.

  • A: Dark Lip Neutralization is a specialized treatment series for those with cool or dark lips in which we neutralize the darkness in the lips to reach a desired color. We look at your lips and neutralize them by cancelling out the original color. Dark Lip Neutralization possibly will require 1 + sessions to get to a client’s target color.

  • A: As a form of cosmetic tattooing, the lip blush treatment is done by breaking the surface of the skin and depositing color into it. But don’t worry, it’s nothing like a regular, decorative tattoo done on the body.

Permanent makeup is done with specially formulated pigments rather than ink. They can be broken down by the body and extracted, so the results gradually fade until they’re not visible anymore. So it’s not actually permanent, although it lasts a long time. Also, cosmetic tattooing doesn’t go deep – the color is injected just underneath the surface of the skin of the lips, from where it’s slowly exfoliated as your skin goes through its natural regeneration cycle. Using an electric needle device, the artist tattoos a million tiny dots on the lips, gradually saturating them in pigment. They will probably go back and forth in several passes, but 1 session usually lasts about an 2-3 hours depending on color mixing/mapping lips. Depending on the desired opacity, the effects are achieved over several lip blushing sessions. If you want a sheer, transparent pop of color, 1 or 2 sessions will be enough. But if you want the color to be more dramatic, you may need some additional appointments.

STRETCH MARK/SCAR INKLESS TREATMENT Q &A

  • A: Inkless stretch mark revision is a non-invasive body camouflage cosmetic method. It’s used to revise stretch marks and scars on skin with serums instead of tattoo ink. This process is special because instead of artificial pigments, high-quality and skin-friendly healing serums and vitamins are injected, just like a tattoo, to treat stretch marks. You can also use the very same method on different types of scars. The serum, plus the agitation of the scar or stretch mark tissue works to heal the skin instead of covering it up with pigment

  • A: Works better than any laser or topical product on the market to permanently revise and remove stretch marks. It is totally safe and can be performed on all parts of your body except the face. What’s crazy about this treatment is that, even though you can receive it multiple times to maximize the benefits, just one session visibly improves the area between 80% and 100%. You would be amazed by the results after one session, but usually it works best after one to three sessions.

  • A: There is no downtime but you will experience redness and swelling immediately after the procedure for the first 5 days. Over the next 4 – 12 weeks the redness will subside and the areas that were treated will go through a variety of shades of red, to dark brown and gradually back to light colored until your skin heals. Remember to carefully follow all aftercare instructions we provided. This is a process so please be patient and trust the process. It is completely normal for areas to be darker for several weeks before they subside and get light again.

How soon after my first session should I get my next session done? 4-6 weeks or once fully healed.

STRETCH MARK CAMOUFLAGE TATOO Q &A

  • A: When evaluating a scar for corrective camouflage the source of the scar is not as important as its look and feel. Once fully healed, any type of pigment loss is generally amenable to micropigment color correction, including:

    Scars (from surgery or injury)

    Stretch marks

Areas lacking pigmentation (from skin conditions like vitiligo)

  • A: Camouflage Tattoo is a newer, scar minimizing treatment that has been gaining popularity in recent years. It uses techniques that are quite similar to those used for permanent or semi-permanent makeup, otherwise known as cosmetic tattooing. The main aim behind camouflage tattooing is to camouflage the appearance of the scar or mark.

  • A: Everyone’s skin is different. Variables include age, diet, hormones, general health, overtones, sun exposure, etc and so it’s impossible to give an exact number of days it will take you to heal.

On average, it takes 45-60 days, but if you’re prone to hyper-pigmentation (you naturally scar dark), it will most likely take longer to heal. During your consultation, we can discuss and assess your skin’s estimated timeline and variables.
